I have had this for a long time, but worry about bone cancer. Cancer run’s in our family, we have both bone and breast caner and have lost two aunts and two uncles from both types. I looked on the net and found that I have all of the symptoms for bone cancer except one and that is weight loss. Does anyone have any advice?

Although I’m a 23 year old male, I haven’t been exposed to much radiation; once every 6 months at the dentist’s (I’ve heard bone cancer is most common in teenagers and young adults.)

In my left knee, I’ve got this knot that I noticed a few weeks ago. It’s located above and to the left (my left) of my knee cap. Although the knot is visible and seems to have gotten slightly bigger over the past couple of weeks (although it could just be my imagination), it does NOT hurt whatsoever. I can walk, run, squat, jump, just about any exercise you can think of. It does not hurt to touch. Even if I hit it with my fist, it does not hurt. It is hard to the touch and it feels just like bone. In fact, I wouldn’t even be worried, only this knot is not present on my other knee. The only thing I’ve noticed is that when I first wake up in the morning and start walking, my left knee (with the knot) will be ever-so-slightly stiffer than my other knee. But it goes after a few seconds of walking. A few questions:

-Is it possible it could be bone cancer, even though there is NO PAIN whatsoever? (I’ve read that pain is the most common symptom of bone cancer).
-Will an X-ray be very expensive?

(I’m going to get it examined, but I thought I’d ask just to ease my peace of mind for the night).

-When I put my hand on the knot when I walk, I can feel it popping. (I can only feel it popping with my hands, I don’t feel the popping in my leg).

I hope someone can shed some light on this. If ur a doctor or an oncologist your answers would be more then welcome. In late 2006 my boyfriend has been diagnozed with stomach cancer. He got better and the cancer got beaten. A few days ago I received a phone call from him telling me that the cancer is back and that it has now also spread to his bone marrow and to his spinal cord and that it will eventually end up in his nervous system and go to his brain.

The oncologist said that he will loose his memory and wont be able to recognise anyone and then it wil eventually lead to his death. Im sooooo scared, because all his talking about is dying and me being with him in his final hours. Isnt their something that can be done to save him ?

What are the symptoms of bone marrow and spinal cord cancer and what can there be done to treat it ? What are his chances of survival ?

PLEASE, IF THERES SOMEONE OUT THERE WHO COULD ANSWER THIS QUESTION FOR ME PLEASE DO SOOO.

please help me i am really scared. i have had bone pain for more then 3 days and also swelling and loss of the bones and joints espically in my hands, also have a fever. I match with the symptoms of bone cancer, but dont know if is that or arthritis. please help me
and i am not overweight, i am a perfect healthy weight, so not got bone pain coz i am overweight. I had a hip problem from birth but i know that has nothing to do from it as only have the pain in my fingers and left leg

My 12 yr old cat (Oscar – neutered male) has blood tests that indicate 99% probability of cancer. No symptoms yet – which leads us to think it’s bone cancer.
2 lots of blood tests taken 2 months apart with no change in results so probability is very small that it is anything other than cancer.

He’s under the very best vet care, but given his age, the vet and I are reticent to do invasive procedures.

I’ve been trying to find references for expected length of life and quality of life if he is not treated by chemo drugs, but can only find web pages specific to radiation/chemo treatment.

Can you help me find references?

At this stage he seems 100% healthy and normal, so the blood test results were a huge shock. He’s a large cat and was a stray as a kitten, so he only had a life expectancy of 14 year or so. The last 11.5 have been pretty good for him.
So no-one’s got any references?

Yes, I have gotten second opinions and we are continuing to treat conservatively and do what non-invasive tests we can.
I have googled, as mentioned earlier, and have not found any references for life expectancy and life quality expectancy without treatment.

While I appreciate all of your comments, no-one’s actually been able to answer my question so far. So I can’t choose a best answer yet.

are all bone pains symptoms of bone cancer? thanks

I have had pains not like cramps at all but near my pubic bone kind of. My cervix or what I think it is, is very big, I don’t know if that is normal or not. It’s on top of my..ya know..and isn’t it suppose to be at the end of your vag because mine isn’t… I was very poorly educated when it comes to sex ed and all that..so are these any symptoms of cancer?

For the past year I have been having pains on my lower thigh, it gets worse at night. I searched up bone cancer and what I suffer from is a symptom of cancer. I would see my GP this week.
No one in my family has had cancer, I am a bit of a hypochondriac.

my mom recently had a full blood test done where they told her that her platelet and hemoglobin levels were high. she has an appointment with the hemotologist at the cancer center a week from today. my husband and i decided to research these elevated conditions and found a lot of results trailing to bone marrow cancer? we are very worried and concerned with whats going on. opinions on possible other conditions? also survivial rate for bone marrow cancer. would she have any symptoms for bone marrow cancer.

her wrist has always bothered her (it would hurt but she would just go on and not think to much about it, she has arthritis) but recently the doctor told her it was fractured. she cant seem to pin point a time when this happen.
